NIZC Trainees Gear Up for the National Skills Competition 2025

The National Institute for Zorig Chusum (NIZC), Thimphu, proudly announces the participation of its trainees in the upcoming National Skills Competition 2025, a nationwide event that celebrates and recognizes the talents of young Bhutanese in diverse skill categories.

Trainees from NIZC will compete in four key traditional arts categories—Traditional Painting, Wood Carving, Embroidery, and Sculpture—representing the institute’s continued dedication to preserving and promoting Bhutan’s timeless craftsmanship under the Zorig Chusum tradition.

In preparation for the competition, the institute has launched intensive coaching and mentorship sessions led by experienced masters. These sessions aim to refine the trainees’ skills, encourage creativity, and enhance their confidence to perform at the national level.

Speaking at the preparatory meeting, the institute’s management expressed full support and pride in the trainees’ commitment and craftsmanship. “This competition is not only a stage to showcase skills but also an opportunity to uphold the cultural values embedded in our training system,” a senior instructor stated.

The National Skills Competition serves as a crucial platform to promote vocational education and training in the country, encouraging excellence, innovation, and pride in traditional skills.

The entire NIZC community extends its best wishes to the participating trainees as they embark on this journey of excellence and national representation.
