Technical English

Technical English focuses on enhancing the trainees’ ability to understand, express, and engage with content related to their respective crafts in the English language. Given the growing need for artisans to interact with clients, present their work, and pursue further studies or opportunities both locally and internationally, strong communication skills are indispensable.

Key Objectives:

  • To improve comprehension and use of vocational terminology related to Zorig Chusum.
  • To build confidence in speaking and writing for professional and day-to-day interactions.
  • To develop presentation skills, report writing, and communication in the workplace.
  • To introduce basic documentation practices, such as creating portfolios, artist statements, and maintenance records.

Course Components:

  • Vocabulary building focused on tools, materials, techniques, and workplace safety.
  • Functional grammar for crafting simple yet correct sentences relevant to technical and work-related tasks.
  • Listening and speaking activities including discussions, interviews, and oral presentations.
  • Reading comprehension exercises using manuals, instructions, and short articles relevant to traditional arts.
  • Writing skills for emails, reports, descriptions of artworks, and other official communication.
