This course provides in-depth training in traditional Bhutanese painting, equipping learners with specialized skills and expertise in the field. The curriculum covers advanced techniques in thangka painting, mural painting, and decorative arts, with a focus on sacred iconographies such as Kalachakra and Vajrakilaya. Trainees will learn and conduct research on the extraction of natural pigments from minerals and other natural sources, enhancing their understanding of traditional material preparation. They will develop mastery in the use of traditional materials, composition, color symbolism, and intricate detailing. In addition to technical proficiency, the course emphasizes the philosophical, spiritual, and cultural significance of Bhutanese art, preparing graduates to become highly skilled artists capable of contributing to the preservation, promotion, and evolution of Bhutan’s rich artistic heritage
